Team careMESH: Meet Victor Chatain
Why did you decide to join careMESH?
Having worked for an acute care telemedicine provider before I joined careMESH, I knew from experience that telehealth and the industry struggled with the exchange of EHR documented information. Although some hospitals were working on integrating systems to document from one EHR to the other (which required a heavy IT lift), the majority of transactions still happen via fax. It baffled me to think telemedicine is at the forefront of medical innovation and technology, but it still relies on old technology to communicate.
So when the opportunity presented itself to come in early to a company focused on secure digital communications to bridge this gap, I knew it was a challenge I wanted to pursue.
Disruption is about changing processes that are strongly enclaved, and I trusted that careMESH had the right approach to implement change and a new model for healthcare communications.
What is your role with the company?
I feel very fortunate to have seen my role evolve with careMESH over the past four years. As hire number six, I joined as Account Director. My first mission was to focus on business development. Our platform was not yet live, but we knew the gaps we filled in healthcare. We simply needed to identify where we bring the greatest value and how we wanted to tell our product story. As we began partnering with large healthcare customers, my role transitioned from sales to account management: from project planning to implementation to managing client relationships. I must say that I have never been bored at careMESH!
Now that our client portfolio has grown, so has our team. I can solely focus on our Accounts and maintain a high level of service and rapport with our partners. It’s been a pleasure to work with my counterparts and see careMESH grow within their hospitals.
What have been your highlights so far working with careMESH customers?
Definitely our go-lives. There’s something about launching a service line with a customer that just validates everyone’s hard work.
What makes working in healthcare important to you?
Having a sense of purpose is important in my professional life. It gives it a human side I really enjoy.
I truly believe that I am part of the team and contribute to better patient outcomes. When I see a patient go through our system, it’s gratifying to think we're helping that individual get the care they need. And if I do not do my job well and careMESH doesn’t deliver, then communication and patient care might be impacted.
Tell us a little something fun about yourself outside of work.
To my wife’s despair, I play a lot of rugby on weekends, so I have recently been taking up golfing to spare her some white hairs and not scare my customers on Zoom calls—with an occasional black eye!
